Product Description
The Martinez MDR-1RNE-VSB Round-Neck 'Spider-Style' Electric Resonator Guitar is a quality built resonator guitar perfect for blues or country style playing. This model is based on one of the pioneering models that made a name for itself in the 1920's, with guitarists wanting more volume from their acoustic guitars so they could be heard over the drum kit and double bass. This was achieved by housing a spun metal cone to its top, as opposed to the usual slat wooden soundboard that was found on the common acoustic guitar.
The MDR-1RNE is a round neck electric version, and can be played conventionally like any other guitar or also as a lap steel guitar. As well as being louder than the average acoustic, thanks to its metal cone, it also has the added bonus of a 'lipstick-style' neck pickup with volume and tone controls. This makes it perfect for louder shows, or even adding guitar effects to what is already a classic sound.
This instrument is constructed with a Spruce top with two screen-covered soundholes, Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck, Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, and a 'lipstick-style' neck pickup with volume & tone controls. It also features a Maple saddle, diecast machine heads and quality chrome hardware.
Finished in a beautiful Vintage Sunburst gloss finish.
