The redesigned bore and neck are modeled after the Yamaha YBS62 professional baritone sax to improve tone, with changes to the bell to enhance intonation, particularly in the lower notes. The ergonomics have been updated, with redesigned key positions and a shorter bell, as well as a detachable floor peg. The YBS480 is also considerably lighter in weight than previous models. Together, these improvements serve to make the YBS480 more accessible to players of all sizes.
